Profile
Hanako focuses on cross-border M&A and China practice. Chinese approval procedures and regulatory enforcement move quickly, and the written requirement often differs from how it is actually applied. She works day to day with local counsel and practitioners who deal with the authorities directly, so advice reflects current practice rather than the text alone.
Having worked on both entries into and exits from the Chinese market, she has seen how much the structure chosen at entry determines the cost of leaving — so she designs the entry with the exit already in view.
